Loss.

A very dear friend of mine passed away this night, October 20th, after a long illness. I started this portrait of him a few weeks ago, when I honestly thought the grief would keep me from painting at all.

To the big brother I am so lucky to have found...my heart doesn't feel the same without you here.

Sadako Sasaki - Paper Cranes Illustration.

This semester is keeping me quite busy, so I'll have to apologize for the lack of posts. I'm currently working on four oil paintings that I hope to be posting about soon. In the meantime, here is a watercolor illustration based on the story of Sadako Sasaki and the 1000 cranes.
